On Saturday 7 September we are hosting a wedding and so access to the ground floor galleries may be restricted in the afternoon, access to Louise Bourgeois: Nature Study will not be affected. On Sunday 8 September all visitors, including members, are required to have a Compton Verney Dining Club ticket.

This 19th-century sampler was produced by Hastwell at the age of twelve. It reflects Victorian sentiment, but also the youthful spontaneity of popular art. Samplers in Victorian times were a method of recording and circulating ideas and stitches were often taken from pattern books.
