Join us for a special film screening of Bhaji on the Beach in celebration of our Chila Kumari Singh Burman exhibition.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Gurinder Chadha (Bend it like Beckham, East is East), this heart-warming comedy-drama follows a group of South and British Asian women on a road trip from Wolverhampton to Blackpool. Along the way, the film explores themes of tradition, assimilation, identity, domestic abuse, and teenage pregnancy. The screening will be introduced by one of the exhibition’s curators, and tickets include tea and coffee.
