Friday 15 November 2024
11am

Join archaeologist and Compton Verney volunteer Hilary Calow as she brings the site’s past to life.

She will explore, with the help of visual aids, how evidence of pre-historic, Roman, Anglo Saxon and medieval activity has gradually been coming to light at Compton Verney. You will discover hidden secrets and learn about some of the mysteries still to be explored, looking at Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s Georgian Chapel and Compton Verney’s role in World War II. You will also have the opportunity to look at and handle some of Compton Verney’s archaeological finds.

This event will take place outside. Meet at the back of the Welcome Centre and will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Please wear weather appropriate footwear and clothing. This event will take place indoors as an illustrated talk in the case of bad weather
