Art Fund
Museum of the Year 2025

Compton Verney has been shortlisted for Art Fund Museum of the Year 2025, the UK’s most prestigious museum prize.

We’re one of just five museums across the country recognised for outstanding creativity, impact, and ambition – and we’re thrilled.

This honour comes in recognition of our 20th anniversary – a year that’s seen us celebrate Compton Verney as a joyful, welcoming space where art, nature, and creativity collide. We’re over the moon to be recognised for the amazing things we’ve achieved together.

A group of people are gathered around a large, abstract metal sculpture of a spider-like creature in an outdoor park setting. Some are taking photographs of the sculpture, while others observe it from different angles, appreciating the artistic installation.

  • A wonderful commission by Brazilian artist Erika Verzutti

  • Deep community connections – from our monthly dementia café to early years play projects and exhibitions led by students

  • Welcoming over 117,000 visitors – that’s a 30% jump from before the pandemic

We’re in fantastic company too. Our fellow nominees are:
