Questions

How do I renew my Membership?

Simply renew in person or call us on 01926 645500 Tues-Fri 11am-5pm. If your Membership is paid for by Direct Debit or auto-card renew there is nothing you need to do as payments are collected automatically. Please continue using your existing Membership card and you’ll receive a renewal reminder email.

Can I change my type of Membership half way through the year?

Yes, you’re welcome to upgrade to any of our current Membership types – just speak to a member of our team, phone 01926 645500 or email members@comptonverney.org.uk

Why don’t you include guest passes anymore?

We have introduced a new Membership type – Individual + guest. This enables you to join as a member and bring a different friend or family member every time you visit.

Can I change to Auto-card renewal Membership?

Members will receive an email when their Membership is coming up for renewal and you have the option to set this up.
Auto card renewal is a great way to always know your Membership is valid, whilst saving money on the annual fee. It will renew automatically each year unless you cancel or there is a payment failure and you will receive a reminder a month in advance of your renewal.

Can I Gift Aid my Membership?

If you are a UK taxpayer, please do Gift Aid your Membership. Gift Aid increases the value of your gift to Compton Verney by 25% at no extra cost to you, by enabling Compton Verney to claim back tax from HM Revenue and Customs. To qualify, you need to be a UK taxpayer and pay income or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount of Gift Aid claimed in that tax year. If you are a higher-rate taxpayer, you can also claim the difference between the rate you pay and the basic tax rate on your donation, via your tax return. If you do not already Gift Aid your Membership, and would like to, please contact us on 01926 645500 or at members@comptonverney.org.uk – it’s quick and easy to sign up.

Can I lend my Membership card to a friend?

Membership cards are not transferable or refundable and are for use by the named Member only. We will occasionally ask Members to provide additional ID when visiting. Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park depend on the support of Members as we are a charity.

What should I do if I lose my Membership card?

On your next visit please speak to a member of staff at the Welcome Centre who will be able to issue you with a new card.

When will I receive my Membership card if I purchased my Membership online?

Your membership pack and card will be posted 7-10 days from the date of purchase. In the meantime you are welcome to visit as many times as you like, just give your name to our Welcome Centre team when you arrive. You can also book a visit online using the email address attached to your Membership.

Postage is included in your membership. A charge may be applied if you require a replacement membership card.

We are investigating the potential use of digital membership cards. If this is available in the future we will let you know upon renewal.

If I join as an Individual + guest can it be a friend or does it have to be a family member?

You are welcome to come with friends or family, and it can be a different person each time you come.

How long is my membership valid for?

Your membership is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and we’ll be in touch with you before it’s due to expire. We hope you’ll choose to renew your Membership with us.

Can I receive a refund on my Membership?

If you have purchased the incorrect Membership then please get in touch with a member of our team and we can look to resolve this. We do not offer refunds on Membership purchases. You are welcome to change membership type upon renewal, upgrade throughout the year from an individual to a joint or individual plus guest, but we are unable to downgrade or refund Compton Verney memberships.

What can I visit with my Membership?

You can visit the collections, exhibitions and park as many times as you like*. For full details of our 2023 programme please visit our What’s On page.

Does Membership include parking?

Yes it’s free to park with Membership or a day ticket at Compton Verney.

Will you contact me before my Membership renews?

Yes we will – keep your eye on your emails as will email you a month before your renewal is due to go through. Keeping your Membership on auto-renew means it will always be valid and you don’t have to worry about when it might expire.

Can I use guest passes online?

Guest passes can be redeemed onsite, by phoning us on 01926 645500 or email members@comptonverney.org.uk giving 48 hours notice of your visit.

Can I bring a guest with me?

If you have an individual plus guest membership then you may bring a guest with you when you visit us. This can be a friend or family member, we look forward to welcoming you.

You aren’t able to bring guests on any other type of membership, unless you have a family guest pass included in your renewing membership pack. This guest needs to be a family member.

Will I receive a member discount on your events?

We allow free access to members to visit our range of exhibitions, 120 acres of parkland and variety of programme throughout the year. With the additional events and activity we put on we do have to price these events to ensure we cover the costs of the event, and with a large membership base we are unable to offer member discount on all events. This is an important part of our financial stability as an arts charity, and we really hope that members support and enjoy the events we host.

Do I have to pay for child entry?

All 18 and unders’ are free when visiting during the day at Compton Verney. We have an adventure playground, discovery room in the house and plenty more for explorers – whatever the age!

Can I receive a membership as a carer?

Carers for adults receive free entry to Compton Verney. If you are a carer for an adult and would like to apply for an essential companion annual membership please email us with your full details at members@comptonverney.org.uk and a member of team will be in touch.
