
Family visits
We are delighted to welcome visitors with children. Compton Verney offers something for every member of your family to enjoy. From our new children's adventure playground, willow tunnels and nature trails to arty activities every school holiday there's always plenty to capture the imagination, stimulate the mind and keep your children happy and interested.

Family friendly facilities
Baby-changing and feeding facilities are available on the ground floor. Family friendly and accessible toilets can be found on all floors. Hipseats available from the Ticket Desk for carrying children aged 6 months to 3 years. All galleries are accessible to prams and pushchairs with lifts to all floors.
Family friendly Café
Children are welcomed in our family friendly Café, where highchairs are provided. Food options for children include lunch boxes with a free face mask and little portions of any of our main meals for little people. See our Café section for the latest menu. We will warm bottles for you and also have infant lunches for babies aged 6 months plus. At busy times there is also a selection of snacks and sandwiches available from our Coffee Bar.
Family events and activities
During the school holidays there are plenty of arty activities to try out when you visit. Activities are suitable for all ages, just turn up and join in. To find out more about our family friendly events why not sign up for our families e-bulletin to receive regular updates.

Family backpacks and trails
Our free backpacks and trails enable you and your children to explore our collections and grounds through a range of exciting activities. There is no need to pre-book backpacks but during busy times you may have to wait for packs to be returned to the Family Unit.

Join Percy the Pig to explore the British Folk Art collections with a story, jigsaw and colouring sheets.
• The Adventures of Dan the Dog (recommended for 3-5 year olds)
Help Dan the Dog find his friends in the British Folk Art collections using a story jigsaws and colouring sheets.
• Connie and Verne’s little suitcase (recommended for ages 3+)
Let Connie and Verne take you on an adventure through British Folk Art and British Portraits in The Room Full of Fishes and use the magic slate to draw what you see.

• Hidden Treasure (recommended for 8-10 year olds)
Solve the clues and riddles to hunt out the hidden treasure in Compton Verney’s collections.
• Perilous Places (recommended for children with special educational needs)
Discover some dangerous locations and incredible facts on a nail biting adventure through Naples and British Folk Art. Developed in association with Welcombe Hills School. Supported by The Museums Network and The Ratcliff Foundation.
All our backpacks contain fun hands on activities for children and adults to enjoy together.
Grounds trails
• Explorer Nature Trail (recommended for ages 3+)
Use our tools to explore the grounds, searching for insects, birds and animals. Pack includes binoculars, insect magnifier and animal guides.
Love land art
Pick up a pack to help you find artworks by artists Hilary Jack and Laura Ellen Bacon. Follow the trail to Nature’s Art Box where you can make your own piece of land art in the grounds

Become a building detective and take a tour of our Robert Adam and Capability Brown architecture.
Nature’s art box
Located near the Obelisk on the south lawn, Nature’s art box allows you and your family to get creative in the grounds and use natural materials to make your very own land art. Use the materials we have collected or find your own to make sculptures, pictures and patterns and leave them for everyone to see.

Our resources rooms offer a range of books and activities to help you and your family find out more about our collections and exhibitions.
Season Pass
If you're going to come back and visit us more than twice this season then it's worth you purchasing an Season Pass. This allows unlimited entry to our collections and grounds (including the playground) for one year during our open season. It costs just £5 for a child, £10 for an adult or £27 for a family of two adults and up to four children. You can buy on site from the Ticket Lodge or online.
